Hondas lead Shannons Japanese results, Apr 20 2021 Two premium Honda road bikes and a minibike led the motorcycle results for the Shannons auction which concluded tonight. Hot last-minute bidding saw an admittedly tidy and low-mileage (22,000km) 1981 CBX1000 Pro-Link sell for Au$31,000 (US$24,000, GB£17,200) plus buyer premium (five per cent) or probably close to 30 per cent higher than we would have predicted for the Australian market. A restored 1974 Honda CB750-Four K4 in very good but not concours shape went for Au$21,100 (US$16,400, GB£11,700) or around 25 per cent higher than expectations. To round off the trio, a 1980 J50 minibike went for $17,000 (US$13,200, GB£9500)! That result compares to a far more modest Au$9200 (US$7100, GB£5100) for a tidy is not completely original 1974 Suzuki GT750 – a model which has gained significant collector interest in recent months.
