What about the other colours? We have found two for sale, and have added a comprehensive buyer guide plus a contemporary road test.
First-model Hayabusas are very much on the collector radar these days, if they're the very first 1999 models, preferably with the 'bronze' colour scheme (top) that dominated the original brochures and posters. So what's one worth at the moment? We've seen original bronze versions swapping hands for Au$15-18,000 (US$11-13,000, GB£8-10,000), if in prime condition, but the market for black/grey or red/black versions is less certain. The owner of the example above with 24,000km on the odo is asking Au$9250 via Gumtree, (US$6600, GB£5100) saying some of the fairing panels are aftermarket, as are the Yoshimura mufflers. At that price, you'd seriously consider replacing the panels with originals – if they're available. Another more original example with 14,000km on the odo (above) is on Bikesales for Au$12,000 (US$8600, GB£6600). It's incorrectly listed as having ABS, which this model didn't have.
