Triumph Trident 900 – 1994
Pondering the ones that got away (December 2021) Though often over-looked in the showroom, Triumph's base
model 900 was a very flexible bit of gear. While it lacked some of the sex appeal of the Speed
Triple 900, it shared the 98-horse inline triple engine,
had a six-speed transmission and 25 litre fuel tank. The
latter, by the way, had hand-painted pin-striping. Back when it was new, it would have set you back
Au$13,450 plus ORC (US$9800, GB£7300). By year 2000, this
one with 41,000km on the odo was up for sale at Au$8900
(US$6400, GB£4800). Today, it would be worth closer to
Au$4500 (US$3300, GB£2500). We owned one back in the 1990s and it was a very capable
all-rounder. See the specs and
backgrounder at Motorcycle Specs. See our Triumph T300
series backgrounder.
